Prototype information

Henry Ivatt's C1 "Klondyke" was the first 4-4-2 to run in the United Kingdom. They were fast, but lacked pulling power for heavier trains. The C1 remained the GNR's premier express locomotives until Gresley's Pacifics of the 1920s.
