Prototype information
Robert Riddles'
Standard Class 7 express locomotives, designed and built in the dying days of steam, were based on "best practice" of the big pre-nationalisation railways. Built in LMS style but to the weight restrictions of a SR Light Pacific, the Britannias played an important if short-lived role in the post-war rebuilding of Britain's railways.
