The Class 66, adapted and standardised from the earlier Class 59 (The first post-BR locomotives in the UK), has become the defacto standard locomotive for British freight operators in the early 20th Century. So successful has it proved that EMD now sells the Class 66 across Europe and North Africa as well.Similar locomotives
