[edit] Prototype information
The LNER J70 tram engines were designed for use on the Wisbech and Upwell tramway line which ran extensively along public roads. They were fitted with side guards, cow catchers and warning bells as per Board of Trade regulations. The J70 is probably best known as the prototype for Toby the Tram from the Rev. Awdry's Railway Series.
