The French build Sud Aviation (now part of Aréospatiale) SE-210 Caravelle, was one of the first commercial jet planes in history.  Its rear mounted engines together with a new engine layout provided the aircraft improved wingperfomance, and decresed cabin noice. This concept has later been seen on many other aircrafts. The plane was a big succes; there was builden 282 aircrafts, used widely by Euopean Airliners over 3 decades.
