Information
Boeing's first civil jet airliner and the first of the "7x7" series. It was developed from the misleadingly named 367-80, an experimental aircraft built to demonstrate the advantages of passenger jets.
The 707 was the standard long-range aircraft of many of the world's major airlines. Production ran from 1958 to 1979 with 1010 aircraft built.
Special versions of the 707 have served as United States Air Force One, and continue to serve the military as the KC-135 tanker.
