Designed in the early years of the Jet Age, the An-2 single-engined biplane seems an aircraft misplaced in history. Nevertheless, its ruggedness and versatility made it one of the most successful aircraft ever created, with over 18,000 built for airline, agricultural and military use over a period of nearly 50 years.
