Information
The French-built Sud Aviation (later Aérospatiale) SE-210 Caravelle was the world's first short-range jet airliner. Its rear mounted engines provided improved wing perfomance and lower cabin noise than the first jet airliners, which used engines mounted inside the wing roots. 282 Caravelles were built, and used widely by European Airlines for over 3 decades.
