Prototype information
The British Rail Class 73 is a fast freight and passenger locomotive introduced to work alongside the Southern Region 3rd rail EMUs. Its primary power source is the 3rd rail, but it also carries a small diesel engine to allow access to unelectrified areas.Similar locomotives
