Prototype information

This locomotive is based on two real-world locomotives;

The LNWR Coal Engine of 1873 was a powerful but simple freight engine. Hundreds of these locomotives survived well into the 20th century.

The GWR Dean Goods was a celebrated general purpose workhorse introduced in 1883. Light, fast and economical, many survived in branchline service until the 1950s.
